There’s something about a good name.

Meet BEAR DAVID HUDSPETH. His name is cooler than anyone I know.

Well, there is one exception…

The only better name in history is “Sons of Thunder”…

the nickname given to two brothers in the Bible…

by Jesus.

If Jesus gives you the nickname “Sons of Thunder,” you win every time.

Here’s why Bear David is a close second:

BEAR – The image brings to mind fierceness and courage. There’s power and adventure about it that I hope will call him to something great one day.

DAVID – A humble shepherd who became a mighty king because the hand of God was on him. He’s most famous for killing Goliath, and often painted as the courageous young man who “runs towards danger.” But that misses the whole point of the story.

When King Saul tried to talk him out of fighting, David replied, “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” (1 Sam 17:37) David didn’t charge a sword wielding, warrior giant with a slingshot because he was a hero who overcame fear. He did it because God was with him- just like the time with the bear. The nearness of God in his past prepared David for future faith.

BEAR. DAVID. It’s an awesome name.

Also, if Bear adds his middle initial when signing checks, it spells “Beard.”
